HEI FESTIVAL 

HEI Festival is a community-driven independent Slovak film festival with an international spirit, dedicated to showcasing creative works from filmmakers around the world. We welcome short films, documentaries, animations, music videos, and films of all genres – from emerging creators to experienced professionals.

Our festival creates a welcoming space where filmmakers can present their stories, connect with other artists, and become part of a growing cinematic community. We value originality, creativity, emotion, and the passion behind every project – from small independent films to larger productions.

Each season, our team carefully reviews submitted works and selects outstanding films to be recognized as winners. Over the years, we have evaluated hundreds of projects and presented many films to audiences through screenings in Košice at Kino Úsmev and partner locations.

Our mission is to support filmmakers and bring unique cinematic experiences to the heart of Europe. From 2025, we aim to continue improving the festival, offer more valuable awards, and gradually expand our events to new locations.
